over a year and a half.
Every single day CHILDREN ARE BEING KILLED, BOMBED, STARVED, TRAUMATISED. WOUNDED, ORPHANED, INFECTED, SHOT, BURIED UNDER RUBBLE BURNED.
The list of horror is endless.
One of the issues that we must all be aware of is that the constant exposure to this living nightmare should create any sense of ‘normalcy’…
THIS is SO BEYOND ABHORRENT - INDECENT - SADISTIC - CRIMINAL
AND INHUMANE.
Yet life carries on…
And that seems as indecent to me as the actual situation does.
Heartbroken Ashamed and Appalled.

human beings, who are not just numbers.
James Elder (@james_unicef) of @unicef shares the most disturbing truth in this clip.. Yet he speaks of HOPE over DESPAIR.
I think it’s important that we are AWARE as to what is taking place in every war torn country in the world. THIS is why International Human Rights matter. We can’t afford to have them eroded.

I share and post these clips and from Gaza with a HEAVY heart.
This world is filled with conflict - injustice - cruelty and inequity at every turn. It seems to be the human condition. Our very existence is be a test of endurance. Children are borne into circumstances of poverty, war, abandonment and suffering. I have witnessed and experienced all of this close up and first hand… yet THIS is something I CANNOT ignore.
I am appalled, disturbed, enraged, frustrated and often despairing.
HOW CAN ANYONE SUPPORT and ENDORSE THIS SUFFERING??!!!
And of COURSE I ache for the families of hostages who have been caught up in this nightmare. Anti - Semitism is abhorrent. I MUST keep saying this as the gas-lighting is deeply offensive and absolutely corrosive.

This precious child… Holding two dolls that once belonged to two other little girls, who were just like her. The ‘war’ made them martyrs she says…

Look at the trauma she holds in her little body.. She’s been exposed to hell on earth.

She says “This war taught us everything”…Think about that for a moment.

She will never ‘unsee’ the horror she has witnessed. Never ‘unknow’ every traumatic lessons she has learned.

This is NOT NORMAL!
This is ABSOLUTELY IMMORAL!
This is WRONG in every sense of the word!!

And in saying this - I must EMPHASISE that I say the same for every child of any ethnicity.

I call for PEACE and CEASEFIRE
on behalf of THIS LITTLE GIRL and ALL THE CHILDREN who are caught in hellish landscapes like Gaza.

Some take away from this news item… After 16-17 months of absolute carnage the population is being crushed into an even smaller space.
Palestinians are now facing the full annihilation of Gaza.
Nothing can calculate the abhorrent catalogue of atrocities.
NO AID has been allowed in for over a month.
Over a hundred children have been killed or maimed every day for over the last ten days.
Every red line has been crossed.
15 rescue workers were executed and buried in a mass grave.
Multiple Palestinian journalists killed
A Red Cross Hospital was directly hit.
The only cancer speciality hospital was completely levelled.
Every single paediatric hospital has been destroyed or put out of service.
Palestinians are starving.
Children suffer from malnutrition having been starved for over a year and a half.

I had the good fortune to meet @allisonrussellmusic on stage through a fantastic concert at The Gorge in Seattle with @jonimitchell . We sat next to each other on a lilac couch while she played clarinet and we both sang back-up vocals with the Joni Jam peeps. I was immediately struck by her warmth and gentle kindness..
Subsequently we met on stage a couple of times more. Then she asked me if I’d like to record a song with her as a duet. I said ‘yes’ right away, without even hearing the song!
It turned out to be SUPERLOVER.. This one in the video! I love Allison most dearly..She’s a unique and special person and artist!
And I’m SO proud of this profound and haunting peace anthem we recorded together. It is absolute ‘balm’ for the soul in these troubled and troubling times…

Surely this is unconscionable??!!!
NO child should EVER have to be in the cross hairs of situations like this… yet TENS of THOUSANDS of CHILDREN are no longer alive, while even more have been horribly wounded and permanently damaged both mentally and physically.
I feel deeply ashamed of a world that hurts children…
As a mother I find it unbearable.

In the midst of great uncertainty..never ending wars, disputes, aggressions and intimidations… With pending climate catastrophe and the doomsday clock ticking seconds nearer to whatever is next to come.. I keep on banging the drum for the issue of GLOBAL FEMINISM.
Women and girls are still in great peril in countries where One in Three women will experience domestic or sexual violence in their lifetime. Where we have little to no agency over our bodies. Where girls are disempowered at every stage of their development..
We need ‘bridges’ rather than divides..communication rather than confrontation.
Global Feminism is an umbrella term that holds ‘inclusivity’ and ‘diversity’ at its core.
We need freedom from oppressive, tyrannical regimes in order to live our lives to our fullest potential!
