National German Sustainability Award for Annie Lennox
 
The Anniversary Honorary Award of the National German Sustainability Award goes to the Scottish singer songwriter and activist Annie Lennox on December 8th. The award will be presented for the tenth time in Düsseldorf.

“Our honorary awardees are icons of social and environmental commitment,” says Stefan Schulze-Hausmann, founder of the award. “They promote the idea of ​​sustainability by reaching out to people’s hearts. Among them, Annie Lennox plays an extraordinary role; her commitment and passion are simply unique.”

Annie Lennox is one of the most influential human rights activists in the entertainment sector. As part of “Eurythmics” and as a solo artist, she  has sold more than 80 million records and is well known for her charitable work with organizations such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Oxfam and the Nelson Mandela Foundation. For more than 25 years she has devoted herself intensively to the fight against HIV/AIDS, supporting women and children in the poorest countries of the world with her own foundation and the organisation she founded – “The Circle”.

Ten years after her first visit to the National German Sustainability Award, Annie Lennox receives the Anniversary Award, a golden edition of this prestigious prize.

The National German Sustainability Award will be awarded on December, 8th, 2017, in Düsseldorf.  Annie Lennox will also speak in the congress plenary the same day. 

With around 2,000 participants, the National German Sustainability Day is the most visited national congress on sustainability.
