As the situation in Gaza has continued along its year+ long hellish path, with each day passing I’ve been asking the same question….
WHY has there been such an apparent ’carte blanche’ given to destroy and slaughter Palestinians with no holds barred?
The international institutions established to protect human beings from extreme abuse - forced starvation and displacement - torture, genocide, deliberate destruction of all resources.. hospitals, homes, entire infrastructures seem to have evaporated, as if they were never created in the first place.
If the scales haven’t fallen from your eyes yet, then they soon will in 2025.
‘Never Again’…????????!!!!!

Dear Friends,
The past few years have seen both tremendous achievements and set backs in terms of women’s empowerment across the world. At this particular point in time however, it’s become more vital than EVER to support women’s grass-roots organisations, where the needs are greatest at the most basic level, in a world where one in three women experience sexual or domestic violence in their lifetime. Where women have little to no agency over their bodies. Where inequality and misogyny are rife. Where poverty underscores a girl’s access to education and literacy skills.
We still have a LONG way to go!
Last week’s annual Partners Circle was so timely to renew energy and bring together our 12 grassroots partners from Nigeria, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, Afghanistan, UK, South Africa, Uganda, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. These organisations are at the heart of everything we do at @thecirclengo
Thank you also to the inspirational @juliagillard who joined and led a session on leadership and resilience.
Thankful for each one of these outstanding women from around the world who work tirelessly to change the lives of our fellow Sisters everywhere!!

ALL HUMANITARIAN AGENCIES HAVE BEEN BLOCKED BY ISRAELI AUTHORITIES FROM PROVIDING FOOD INTO NORTHERN GAZA.
People have gone for an entire month without food and water.
All 8 UNRWA wells in Jabalya refugee camp have been destroyed.
After 13 months of devastating warfare - hopelessness has set in. With winter coming - 500,000 people are at severe risk of flooding, disease, extreme malnutrition, bombing, rubble and systemic destruction EVERYWHERE.
I don’t share this information to ‘bring down your mood’…
This is something we ALL need to KNOW - BE AWARE OF - BEAR IN MIND - BEAR WITNESS and ADVOCACY.
Don’t check out!!! Keep witnessing - sharing - protesting and calling out for ceasefire in this unmitigated

As we witness these horrific images every single day, I think we have to be SUPER vigilant that they don’t become ‘normalised’.
It’s easy to become accustomed to seeing the abject destruction - the rubble - the terrorised starving dust covered citizens - the slain and wounded from the comfort of our homes, as if it were ‘separate’ from our own personal security bubble.
The very act of consciously bearing witness to our shared common humanity is a very powerful thing to do. To see ‘beyond’ the imagery towards identifying with each and every human being..brother, sister, mother, father, child as extended family. NOT turning away.. NOT ignoring, dismissing or forgetting, but playing an active part in witnessing, supporting and contributing towards ceasefire and the end of these atrocities.
