Dear Friends,
As each day passes we see unbearable images from the besieged place of hell that Gaza has become. Where, for 534 days of war, over 39,000 children are estimated to have lost one or both parents. Among them…17,000 have lost both parents.
And the world still turns.
Silence from global leaders.
Silence from the media.
SHAME ON THEM ALL.

Excited to announce that I’ve worked with @Soundwaves_Art again to create a limited collection of artworks made from the sound waves of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”. Each artwork has been hand-signed by myself and Soundwaves artist Tim Wakefield with profits benefiting @warchilduk—a nonprofit dedicated to protecting, educating, and providing psychosocial support to children in war zones worldwide—as well as my very own non-profit, @thecirclengo, where we are focused on creating a fairer and safer world for women and girls globally, working towards equality, security, and justice for those who need it most.

Some take away from this news item… After 16-17 months of absolute carnage the population is being crushed into an even smaller space.
Palestinians are now facing the full annihilation of Gaza.
Nothing can calculate the abhorrent catalogue of atrocities.
NO AID has been allowed in for over a month.
Over a hundred children have been killed or maimed every day for over the last ten days.
Every red line has been crossed.
15 rescue workers were executed and buried in a mass grave.
Multiple Palestinian journalists killed
A Red Cross Hospital was directly hit.
The only cancer speciality hospital was completely levelled.
Every single paediatric hospital has been destroyed or put out of service.
Palestinians are starving.
Children suffer from malnutrition having been starved for over a year and a half.

Dear Friends,
I had the good fortune to meet @allisonrussellmusic on stage through a fantastic concert at The Gorge in Seattle with @jonimitchell . We sat next to each other on a lilac couch while she played clarinet and we both sang back-up vocals with the Joni Jam peeps. I was immediately struck by her warmth and gentle kindness..
Subsequently we met on stage a couple of times more. Then she asked me if I’d like to record a song with her as a duet. I said ‘yes’ right away, without even hearing the song!
It turned out to be SUPERLOVER.. This one in the video! I love Allison most dearly..She’s a unique and special person and artist!
And I’m SO proud of this profound and haunting peace anthem we recorded together. It is absolute ‘balm’ for the soul in these troubled and troubling times…

What would it take to get children out of harms way?
Surely this is unconscionable??!!!
NO child should EVER have to be in the cross hairs of situations like this… yet TENS of THOUSANDS of CHILDREN are no longer alive, while even more have been horribly wounded and permanently damaged both mentally and physically.
I feel deeply ashamed of a world that hurts children…
As a mother I find it unbearable.

In the midst of great uncertainty..never ending wars, disputes, aggressions and intimidations… With pending climate catastrophe and the doomsday clock ticking seconds nearer to whatever is next to come.. I keep on banging the drum for the issue of GLOBAL FEMINISM.
Women and girls are still in great peril in countries where One in Three women will experience domestic or sexual violence in their lifetime. Where we have little to no agency over our bodies. Where girls are disempowered at every stage of their development..
We need ‘bridges’ rather than divides..communication rather than confrontation.
Global Feminism is an umbrella term that holds ‘inclusivity’ and ‘diversity’ at its core.
We need freedom from oppressive, tyrannical regimes in order to live our lives to our fullest potential!

Imagine your child has been shot with a bullet in lodged in their brain. This is the real experience of ‘Mira.” You can watch it here. This isn’t unique.
Many children in Gaza have been shot in this way.
It’s a miracle that Mira survived.
Many haven’t made it.
How many more children have to be shot before this stops???
( I can hardly believe I’m writing this… it simply beggars belief, but THIS is the real situation )

Before watching this heart breaking clip, can I ask you to imagine how you would feel if you had a child around the age any ONE of these children?
They are INNOCENT of any crime yet they are undergoing the most dire situation any human being could endure.
@oxfaminternational have stated that more women and children have been killed in the past year in Gaza than any other conflict in the last two decades.
Their trauma will last for an entire lifetime and will be passed on for generations to come.
SHAME on the perpetrators.
SHAME on every single one!
Stop this genocide!!

They have seen it ALL.
The constant bombardment and constant terror.
The blood and butchery.
Murdered friends and families
Corpses lying on the streets..
Endless displacement..
The pain of starvation, freezing temperatures, the flimsy tents…No electricity, no clean water, open sewage everywhere, all the buildings turned into piles of rubble, no services whatsoever, no school, no safe place to go…The children of Palestine don’t deserve ANY of this!!!!
What are YOU doing to support them??

I’m so proud to have been able to take part in recording with @allisonrussellmusic on this beautiful song - SUPERLOVER! (🔗 link to watch and listen in my bio)

For me it represents and expresses the core values of humanity, love and compassion we need to cherish and hold at the deepest level of our being.

Every day we witness genocidal destruction, with an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and despair.
There is an additional feeling of ‘shame’ that the weapons used are paid for by countries in which we pay taxes.

Do I support the invasion of Israel on Oct 7th? - Not at ALL!!

Do I want to see the return of the hostages? Of COURSE I do.

I ALWAYS knew that there would be a terrible outcome for the people of Palestine, but never in my worst nightmares did I EVER think that Gaza would be turned into a graveyard wasteland.

Never did I imagine that International Human Rights would be completely trashed, while the world looked on.

This song appeals to our collective humanity, as a call for an end to these horrendous situations, not only in Gaza, but everywhere around the world.

I can only live in hope against despair.

The world has always felt somewhat dystopian to me, but without doubt this feeling is now ramping up in obvious ways.
I came across this post ( a @innerlifewith_asha re-post from my Campadre @misanharriman ) and thought it might offer some ‘solace’ or ‘inspiration’. Speaking in terms of ‘darkness’ and ‘light’ it’s clear the human condition experiences and manifests both sides of the coin.

And so it continues..
It never stopped.
And now I doubt it will, until whatever’s left of Gaza is ground down to toxic dust.
Like a nightmare version of ‘whack a mole’ - people are forced to run from bombs in frenzied panic and terror.
There is nowhere safe to go in a place where life can be decimated in a nano-second at any given time. I keep writing about this because I don’t want this to happen to ANYONE - ANYWHERE!!! There are International humanitarian rules that should apply to ALL people EVERYWHERE.
To all intents and purposes it appears that this will carry on until Gaza is completely erased with her population totally destroyed or exiled.
Never forget - This could be ‘you.’
As a reminder - Antisemitism is as abhorrent to me as the genocide that is taking place.

I’m sharing this post from @james_unicef, the global spokesperson from @unicef.
A man who is used to experiencing the effects of warfare, famine, disease and every terrible plight that women and children are exposed to on this planet.
Personally - I agree there are no words left for this living nightmare any more.
I cannot understand how the whole world can just stand by and allow this slaughter to happen, over and over again.
My perspective has NOTHING to do with any allegiance other than from a humanitarian standpoint.
We’re TRULY living in utterly dystopian times.
