“After spending just a few days with these remarkable women (Mentor Mothers)…I wanted to do as much as I could. It really was a life changing experience.” – Victoria Beckham
Earlier this year, Victoria visited a mothers2mothers (m2m) site in Cape Town, where she met m2m Mentor Mothers, women living with HIV employed to empower and educate other mothers from their communities. They shared with Victoria how frightening an HIV diagnosis is for many African women, who fear their family will abandon or abuse them, meaning they often don’t seek the medical care they so desperately need to maintain their own health and give birth to babies free of HIV.
Mentor Mothers help fight issues of stigma and discrimination, and encourage women to access treatment for themselves and their families, whilst also supporting them to find the courage to come to terms with, and disclose their HIV status.
After spending this time with mothers2mothers, Victoria has decided to partner with THE OUTNET.COM3 to sell more than 600 items of her clothing in aid of m2m! m2m is so grateful to Victoria for her incredible support and generosity. For your chance to shop Victoria Beckham’s wardrobe register before 20th August at THE OUTNET.COM and join us to create an HIV-free generation.
